Take a ride in the country to Hunsader Farms for your next field trip.  We have provided field trips for many years for kids pre-school age to 2nd grade.   We give the children an educational and hands on experience on farm life and vegetables.

Our field trip lasts approximately 2 hours.  The day begins with a 30 minute tractor pulled hayride around the farm.  During the journey, the children will observe horses, vegetable plants, fields, farm equipment and more.  The trip continues past the maintenance barn, loading dock and packing house.  This is a guided tour explaining what your seeing and answering questions along the way.

Next, the kids will pick out their own pumpkin, (fall tour). We will then give each child a bag of animal feed and your group will take a self-guided tour through the petting zoo where they can meet, pet and feed a deer, ducks, emus, bunnies, pigs, geese, sheep, goats, a donkey, a llama and roosters.  They can play on the large playground and in the huge sandbox and everyone can enjoy their lunch or snack in our shaded picnic area.  The children will love their day on the farm.  The spring field trip kids will all leave with a vegetable plant.

Our field trips run Oct - Nov and March - May.  The cost is $5.00 per child.  Teachers and chaperones are free.  We can accommodate up to 50 kids per group with 1 chaperone per 10 kids.  We can only fit 60 people  total on the hayride so please limit your chaperones accordingly.  Not all chaperones may be able to go on the hayride portion of the field trip.  We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early so that we can stay on our schedule for the day. There is a minimum of 20 children.  If you have less we can try to put you with another small group.

The Farm Market will be open for those who would like to purchase fresh healthy produce.  The Farmer’s Wife will also be open for anyone interested in ice cream, candy, gifts, and crafts.  If the kids want to bring extra money they will like The Farmer’s Wife.
